What you should know about Precision Power Components
Extensive library of technical tips and hints to help you spend less time configuring and installing our products and more time enjoying them. Precision Components was formed after its founder Johnny De Caires identified a need in the South African market for good quality and competitively priced turbochargers. De Caires came to the reality of this after running his own large diesel pump room and service centre in Johannesburg for many years and sought good quality product in an effort to minimise down time on his customers vehicles. It was apparent to him at that stage that the cost of original replacement parts were exorbitant and to complicate matters further original replacement parts were only available from one source and that source was also competing in the refurbished turbocharger market. Frustrated with few options regarding turbochargers and associated components he began sourcing items from many corners of the world for evaluation. His ultimate criteria was that the items had to be of superior quality and manufacturing standards whilst offering competitive pricing structure. After some six years of sampling products from different manufacturers De Caires was in a position to take his products to the South African market with confidence. During this process numerous agencies were secured and some very fruitful relationships have been born. It also became apparent that the same need was evident for additional engine components, these included starter motors, alternators, power steering pumps, oil pumps and water pumps. Today, Precision Components carries a comprehensive amount of stock valued at millions of Rands and those items as mentioned above form part of the inventory. Turbochargers are very reliable: less than 1% of turbos fail due to a manufacturing fault with the turbo itself. Before you fit a new turbo, find out what caused the first unit to fail or you risk the replacement failing too.
